Gangtok is a breathtaking city and the capital of Sikkim which is nestled safely in the enormous mountains. It is extremely enchanting, covered in clouds and an indispensable transit point for traders travelling between Tibet and India. It is a perfect base for trekkers who want to go higher up in the mountains. The winding hills roads appear even more mesmerizing when seen from a cable car. The prismatic beauty increases tenfold when you see the spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga. The city also boasts of first no litter and spit free zone in MG marg where no vehicular traffic is allowed. Annual Gangtok food festival is also quite popular among tourists where they can try different types of cuisine and some of the signature dishes of Sikkim. It feels like one big carnival where travellers rejoice with singing, dancing and eating along with shopping of many local treasures that are available in shops on both sides of the mall road.

Tour Plan Details

Arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP). Transfer to Gangtok (approx. 4-5 hours). Check into your hotel and relax.
Full-day sightseeing in Gangtok. Visit Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Enchey Monastery, Do Drul Chorten Stupa, and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. Optional: Enjoy a cable car ride for panoramic views.
Day trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (optional Nathu La Pass). Enjoy the scenic beauty of Tsomgo Lake and the war memorial of Baba Harbhajan Singh. Return to Gangtok in the evening.
Transfer from Gangtok to Darjeeling (approx. 4-5 hours). Check into your hotel in Darjeeling. Evening at leisure to explore the local market.
Early morning visit to Tiger Hill for sunrise views of Kanchenjunga. Visit Batasia Loop and Ghoom Monastery. Explore Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, and Tenzing Rock. Departure from Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP).
